There are two lawful ways for a Filipino worker to take a job abroad: hired directly by the employer, or hired through a licensed recruitment agency. Both are real. What separates them is who carries the processing, and who you can call when something goes wrong.
Agency hire
The agency holds a DMW licence, the employer’s job order is approved before it is advertised, and the agency processes documentation and deployment. If the contract you are given differs from the approved job order, there is a licensed corporation with a regulator’s file on it that has to answer for that.
Direct hire
You deal with the employer yourself. Direct hire is regulated rather than free-form: it is processed through the Department of Migrant Workers, and there are conditions and exemptions that decide whether a particular direct hire is permitted at all. Nobody should tell you a direct hire is simply faster, because the requirement is not speed, it is that the arrangement is lawfully processed.
The question that settles it
Ask who is processing your deployment, and ask to see the document that says so. Any route where the honest answer is ‘nobody, yet’ is not a route.
